Blogging is something which I am quite new to. I am not really sure what I will end up writing about but it just seems quite amazing that it is now so easy for anyone to publish things which can then be read by the whole world!

In recent years I have become involved as a governor in a two different schools. For a while I was chair of governors at a local middle school which was facing a number of challenges. This was extremely rewarding but it was not easy to devote the time needed whilst working and I felt that it was in the best interests of the school for me to resign.
I was also governor at a very successful primary school and it was interesting trying to work out just what it was that made one school so much better than the other. Both had committed teachers and the dividing line between success and failure was very narrow indeed.
